The 2027 Spanish Super Cup will be staged in Turkiye at Istanbul’s Ataturk Olympic Stadium, the Spanish Football Federation announced on Thursday. The four-team tournament, scheduled for February 2 to 7, will bring together Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Real Sociedad.
Barcelona enter as the reigning champions after beating Real Madrid in the 2026 final. The Catalan club also confirmed that the competition will return to Saudi Arabia in 2028.
Saudi Arabia has hosted the Spanish Super Cup since 2020, but was ruled out for the 2027 edition because the planned dates overlap with the Asian Cup, the continent’s premier men’s international football tournament.
The Spanish Super Cup features the winners and runners-up of La Liga and the Copa del Rey. Moving the event to Istanbul continues the competition’s recent trend of being played outside Spain.
